About
2008: Planning our wedding.
2007: Moved in with Jen! Went to Venezuela for a month. Got hired at ESPN!! Got engaged!!!
2006: Met a girl. Left her three weeks later for a month to work in Detroit for the Super Bowl followed by a few weeks in Torino for the Winter Games. Came back for a couple of months. Spent time with the gf. Left her again for two and a half months . This time for Germany and the World Cup.
2005: I don’t remember too much from this year.
2004: Lived in Santa Monica for a while before moving in with my best friend Vic.
2003: Graduated (finally). Got a job that I would keep for three years.
2002: Moved back home. Went to Europe for two months. Went back to school to finish my degree. Did freelance work on the side.
2001: Worked and lived in the Bay Area at one of those big, rich corporations. Started this site. Got laid off. Met some cool people. Had some fun. Waited tables. Bided my time.
2000: Moved to Manhattan Beach. Sweet pad right off the beach. I still can’t believe I left that place. Knowing my beloved start-up wasn’t going anywhere, I decided to take an offer in San Francisco. As it turns out, the job I took in SF went out of business before the one in SoCal (though the SoCal one soon followed). Lined up a new job for the new year.
1999: Worked long, Net Slave-like hours. Got my own apartment in LA. Enjoyed the independence.
1998: Five classes away from graduating, I decided to take an internship at an Internet start-up. The internship turned into a full-time gig. Tried to do the school thing and work thing at the same time, but
the two hour drive in LA traffic to Orange County made me decide to take a “leave of absence.”
1997: Decided to change my major to Business with an emphasis in MIS (Management in Information Systems), but I kept Computer Science as a minor. The department is now known as Information Systems & Decision Sciences.
1996: Headed back to SoCal to attend Cal State Fullerton and major in Computer Science. Besides the tough classes, this was just one tough year in general. I did a lot of growing up.
1995: Took my first college computer class. You know, the basic Word Perfect and Excel spreadsheet class with an intro to the basics of “this is a hard drive.”
I decided to take the computer path even though I didn’t know very much. I always wanted to learn about computers and was fascinated with them, so I said “What the heck?”
1994: After one year as a “fine, upstanding student” at SLO I decided I no longer wanted to be a Bio major in Ecology and Systematic Biology. Whatever that means. I started attending the local J.C., Cuesta College, to
figure out just exactly what the heck I wanted to do with myself.
1993: Graduated from H.S. and started my interesting college career. The first college I attended was Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
1989: Graduated from St. Pius X Elementry School. That concluded the first eight years of my eventual 12 years of Catholic schooling.
I started attending St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower) in the Fall. An all boys Catholic high school.
1981: Participated in Little League, Santa Fe Springs chapter. My Dad coached me as he would continue to do so, in one form or another, for the remainder of my sports career.
I also played soccer for the first time in AYSO (Downey chapter). I was on the Jedis.
1975: Born in Los Angeles. East LA to be specific. Yes, just like the Cheech and Chong song.
